Pre Surgery Appointments
Although I initially freaked out that surgery will be so soon I am used to the idea now. Can't seem to think of any good reason to wait any longer. We will know a whole lot more about what my future holds after those pathology reports come back and I will be on the road to recovery from surgery sooner rather than later. I had some tests I had to take care of right away. I had my EKG, chest xray and blood work done in one fell swoop and I barely had to wait. Gives me time to do all the other things that have to get done before I have surgery! Like get my life organized! Do you think my mother will care if the cupboard under my sink is a complete mess? Actually, compared to my sister my house is spotless (sorry Gigi) so it doesn't really matter.
Jaime, m'luv, I have a recommendation. While spending 2 weeks last summer at Mercy after open heart surgery...I had most nights where they would give me a sleeping pill which would work about 3 hours and then the rest of the night I was wide awake listening to hospital clatter. My favorite tool was my ipod where I had not only cool music, but Eckhart Tolle's "Being in the Now" and Sidney Poitier's "The Measure of a Man". This helped the time pass and distacted me from pain. I have cd's if you want any of Tolle's or Sidney's books on your 'pod.. Remember to take your charger cord...too. That ipod was a big help. Saves your sanity, somewhat. I love you and have been praying for you. Also I told Terri P. about you and she was going to email you. She has been thru it and more. I'm right here across the street if you need me. Anything...I can do..(and yes, the girls droop!)
